I’ve been fascinated with the saxophone ever since I started playing 35 years ago and one of my great joys is sharing the things that I’ve learned with others.

Past students have gone on to study music at the Eastman School of Music, Berklee College of Music, William Paterson University and the University of North Texas among others. Students have also won Downbeat Student Awards.

My goal in teaching is to help students develop and refine skills on the saxophone that allow them to express themselves through music.

Topics covered include:

• Saxophone Fundamentals (Embouchure, Breathing, Articulation)
• Tone Development (Long Tones, Overtones, Altissimo, etc.)
• Technique
• Body Mechanics (Posture, Hand/Finger Placement)
• Jazz Repertoire
• Transcription
• Ear Training
• Improvisation
